Marketing Assistant

*** Marketing Assistant work mainly eight to five, but deadlines may require working additional hours.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will assist management in the design of high quality, accurate and creative artwork for specific commercial, and/or promotional needs in the packaging industry; including but not limited to corrugated and folding carton boxes, displays, logos and various company advertisements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Produce high quality designs, concepts in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and client expectations for creativity and accuracy.
• Create visual concepts, by hand or using computer to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers; and develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports.
• Collaborate with Production Manager/General Manager on specs development and maintenance, measurement definitions, and any specific requirements for each custom box, packaging design or lay out.
• Determine the most appropriate size and arrangement for illustrative material, and make recommendations to Customers.
• Use computer software to generate new images, draw and print charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork.
• Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts for printing. Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
• Managing customer proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production.
• Working with Customers, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales.
• Developing concepts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites.
• Study illustrations and photographs to plan presentation of materials, products, or services.
• Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief.
• Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met, and all material is printed to the highest quality.
• Follow schedule set for production and delivery deadlines.
• Maintain an awareness of current design trends and a working knowledge of the latest industry software.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in Marketing or a related field. Alternatively, must have 1 to 3 years’ experience in Marketing advertising or related field.
• Candidate for should be able to demonstrate creativity and originality.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, to ensure effective and accurate flow of information.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment.
• Must be a forward thinker and team player, with exceptional creativity and innovation.
• Good organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of the latest trends, and their role within a commercial environment.
• Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
• Flexibility in performing tasks outside of basic responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS:

• The Employee could be occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals related to the manufacturing process.
• The Employee is regularly required to work in an office, warehouse, or outdoor environment, which may be cold or hot depending of the season.
• Job requires the employee to sit, walk and stand frequently.
