Come Help us Build our place to be a "PARADISE JUNGLE".

Right now we have 6 bamboo huts and 4 tents for volunteers and guests. We need help with tasks such as building a tree house, dirt house, restaurant, yoga floor, bamboo bridge into the lotus pond, clean and clear an area to be a natural swimming pool. All of these we love to do ourselves so we strongly need volunteer hands to help.

You receive free accommodation and learn about different task by Wichai, my husband.

We are doing a small place to stay in the nature "Wichai's Jungle Home Stay", 30 km away from Surathani province in the south of Thailand. For almost 60 years we left this place to go on succession until now we were given 1.5 hectares full of plant diversity. They grew by natural selection and support each other. While the area around is full of economic plants such as rubber tree plantation and palm oil plantation. We both love forest so we planed to stay there by building a small house and stayed. That is a quiet place surrounding by the nature. You can hear birds song , forest sound and 5 million stars on the sky in the night. The place is good for take a rest and refresh your live so we think to share for one who love to stay like this.

The project started last year. Staying here away from city among the Thai local people you can learn real Thai more than others tourists.

The closet small town to our place is called Banna (Ban Na Doem, the same). It is a small and remote town so there is no frequent bus that go direct to here. It is accessible by other means of transportation listed below.

From Bangkok: its better taking train number 173 to Banna. The train leaves at 5.35 pm.and arrives in Banna station at 6.30am next morning. We can walk only 400 steps to pick you up there and then drive to the jungle 7 km far from Banna.

From Malaysia: via land border crossing, if you are coming to Thailand via land you can take the bus to Had Yai railway station and then take the ordinary train number 448 to Banna. The train leaves Had Yai around 10 am and arrives Banna at 5.23 pm. It costs only 51 baht. We can pick you up there.

From Suratthani town: from any city in Thailand take train/bus/plane to Suratthani first and then take the van from Taladkaset 2 (bus terminal) to Banna. There are many van office there but try to find van for Banna only and you don't miss. The van leaves every hour until 6 pm. It costs 60 baht and take around an hour to Banna. We will pick you up at Banna van station.

Any ways if you pass Thoung Toa ( between Suratthani and Bannasan) you can tell the driver to drop you in front of 7/11 (supermarket)and call us to pick you up there. This is my phone number,0893909961.

Wichai and Nayiana are a sweet and caring couple. I felt very much welcomed and appreciated at their place. BanNaa is a small village, with friendly helpful people, no tourists. Sleeping in a tent, with the amazing sounds of birds, geckos and frogs. Nice bike (not motorbike) tours in the surroundings after work/weekends, playing cards, music etc. Many small shops and food markets within walking distance. Volunteers have their own kitchen area with a gas cooker, large fridge and 2 toilets/showers. The work was fun; gardening, making a compost, cleaning up, fixing water pipes. Wichai was good at organizing the work. A perfect place to 'settle' a bit, slow down, and enjoy. I warmly recommend 'Jungle Paradise' and for sure I want to come back.
