Come and volunteer with us on our beautiful island of Koh Lanta in Thailand.

If you are hard-working, motivated, friendly and mature, regardless of age (it’s all about your attitude), with a love of animals we would love to have you as part of our team. The volunteering with us is immensely rewarding and fulfilling experience but it requires commitment, as the animals are relying on you!

You’ll meet loads of great people from all over the world and we know you’ll have lots of fun, and fall in love with our island and animals, but one thing to remember our animals always come first.

We are a very busy animal welfare centre in Koh Lanta, we always have new animals coming into our centre. We have around 40 resident dogs and cats and we also conduct regular sterilisation and vaccination programs to humanely control the population of dogs and cats and help reduce the levels of disease in the area, and surrounding islands, we always need volunteers to help look after our animals.

Volunteering hours:
* 7am - 1pm
* 1pm - 7pm

Our Volunteers generally work 6 days per week, with one day off, every volunteer is expected to do a night-shift which they stay in the main area of the shelter to answer any emergencies and contact the on call vet and also to keep the animals calm if they get distressed during the day, we also may have you as a host if you are confident and like to speak to the public, this helps the tourist be aware of what we do, get our animals adopted and also sponsored, so is always a very important role.

Everyday role for our volunteers include:
- Feeding and preparing food for our animals
- Walking our resident dogs
- Cleaning our animal areas
- Cleaning the areas in our clinic
- Laundry
- Socialising with animals (including grooming, bathing, extra walks, playing)
- Helping with general chores

Getting There

Krabi International Airport, is the international airport serving Krabi, Thailand. It is about 7 kilometres east of the city center.

For getting from Krabi airport to Koh Lanta, there are two main options - minibus or private taxi. The costs are quite different. The minibus costs 400 baht (and that’s the ferry crossing included) and the private taxi costs around 2,500-3,000 baht.

Minibus - before leaving the departures lounge of Krabi airport, there are travel desks located inside and most offer transport to Koh Lanta. They will let you know where to wait for the bus and if you have to change buses at the local bus depot. When booking the ticket, make sure that you tell them where you want to be dropped off. It can be quite slow, around 3-4 hours depending on wait time, drop offs etc.

Our recommendation to both of the above, we can arrange a private transfer for you for 2,500 baht. I would need to know a couple of days before if you want this option. That will take about 2 hours.
